10 Ways to Recharge Your Batteries

With the fast-pace of our modern lifestyles and a society that thrives of being busy, we’re often left feeling burned out and exhausted. While we all need a little pick me up from time to time, it’s vitally important to take the time to recharge your batteries. Doing so will give you the extra energy you need to keep up with your busy schedule. Take the time to do the following, even if you think you don’t have it. Five to ten minutes a few times a week is all you really need to feel refreshed and rejuvenated so you can take on your life with the energy your schedule demands. 

1. Get out in Nature 

Getting outside and into nature will help clear your mind and connect you to your body’s natural rhythm. A walk on the beach, a hike in the woods, or even spending time in a park are all great ways to get you out and recharge your life.  

2. Clear your Clutter 

It’s hard to feel ready to meet the day when you’ve got piles of things around you all the time. Clear out your clutter and watch your world change. Get rid of old paperwork, laundry on the floor, a messy kitchen, etc. You’ll be surprised at how much energy letting go of these things will give you. 

3. Harness your Creativity 

Creativity sparks livelihood. Taking just twenty minutes out of each week to draw, paint, sculpt, or write will help refresh your life and give you something to look forward to.  

4. Learn Something New 

Learning something new will spark your brain and rejuvenate the way you think. Learn how to dance, speak a new language, or take a class learning how to do something you’ve always dreamed of. Learning new things breaks us out of old routines that often leave us feeling drained and worn out.  

5. Take More Naps 

Taking a nap is one of the quickest ways to recharge and is recommended by countless medical professionals. Shutting your eyes for just ten minutes each day will dramatically improve the way you operate. 

6. Eat Cleaner 

Don’t forget you are what you eat, and it’s all too often that quick and convenient foods leave us with less energy than we started with. Eating clean and watching what we eat (think low carbs, plenty of fruits, tons of greens, and lean proteins) will make all the difference when it comes to our energy levels. 

7. Take a Warm Bath 

Run yourself a warm bath a few nights a week, and feel the stress melt off your body and mind with the warm water that surrounds you. A warm bath will help ease tension and give you that much needed sense of calm at the end of the day.  

8. Energize your Senses 

Get the energy you need by energizing your senses with aromatherapy. Citrus scents such as orange and lemon are excellent for giving your mind the boost it needs when you feel that you’re dragging.  

9. Make Time for Yourself 

This is one of the most important things you can do to recharge your batteries. Constant stimulation by others is a sure-fire way to make you feel like you need to recharge. By making time for yourself, you have the power to connect to who you truly are, which is beyond important for harnessing the energy you need.  

10. Empty your Mind at the End of the Day 

If you only do one thing to recharge (although we recommend more) make this be it! Do not take your troubles and stresses to bed with you. Empty your mind through meditation or deep breathing at the end of the day so you feel recharged and ready to go when you rise, rather that still burdened by yesterday’s problems.
