I keep hearing about these amazing Colour Runs popping up around the world and so thought I would find out a little more about them. What is a Colour Run? The Colour Run™ is 5km run, a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family. Colour runners come in all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds; but everyone lining up at the start has a blast. It sounds like whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of The Colour Run™ course will be the most memorable and colorful run of your life! How does it work? The Colour Run™ event just has TWO SIMPLE rules: 1) You must wear a white (any mostly white T-shirt will work) a white t-shirt is mandatory at the start line. 2) You will have color plastered over EVERYTHING at the finish! Runner/walkers begin the 5km at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book. By the end, they look like they fell into a Willy Wonka.. tie dyed.. vat of colour goodness. The organisers of these colour runs are the creators of an all new paint race phenomenon! What is the Color made from? Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color: yellow, orange, pink, or blue. As the runners/walkers reach the Kilometer COLOUR Zones, they are blitzed by volunteers, sponsors, and staff with COLOUR. All the colour products are 100% natural and safe. You can eat the stuff if you’d like (but apparently it is surprisingly high in calories and leaves a chalky aftertaste so they don't recommend it). Checkout this colour run official video below to get a better picture of what a colour run is truely like: It looks like an absolute blast I would definitely be keen to enter a colour run if it came to New Zealand. Let me know if you would too.. perhaps I might have to get in touch with the organisers and get the colour run to come to New Zealand!
