Benefits of Coconut Water

Coconut water has become all the rage in healthy hydration and is packed with tons of beneficial nutrients. It’s an awesome alternative to water and has the same benefits as popular sports drinks. Coconut water, however, is not packed with sugar and artificial ingredients, which makes it a great choice for those of us that care about what goes into our bodies.

The benefits of coconut water extend far beyond a post-workout thirst quencher. Coconut water is full of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Zinc, selenium, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, ascorbic acid, and B vitamins are all part of coconut water’s chemical compound and those that drink this water swear by its healing properties. It’s no wonder it’s adored by everyone around the globe when the benefits of coconut water just don’t seem to stop. Coconut water is:

  • Great for your Skin

Dabbing coconut water on your skin works like a natural beauty tonic and will clear up a variety of different imperfections. Acne, wrinkles, eczema, cellulite, stretch marks, and age spots are all visibly reduced on the skin with the use of coconut water. When taken orally, it moisturizes the skin from within.

  • Full of Electrolytes

Coconut water naturally contains all five electrolytes that are found in the human body. It contains just the right amount of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium that your body needs to stay healthy.

  • Good for Digestion

Coconut water might just provide some relief if you have issues with your digestion. It’s high in fibre which helps prevent indigestion and heartburn. It also helps to treat constipation, bladder infections and failing kidneys.

  • Similar to Blood Plasma

With a similar profile to human blood, coconut water has been used in emergency situations around the globe for years. It has been used intravenously in emergency situations and was also used in World War II to treat wounded soldiers.

  • Excellent for Maintaining Healthy Blood Pressure

The balance of the electrolytes in coconut water is good for reducing blood pressure. It also helps to improve blood circulation and promotes heart health by reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Popular all over the world, people just can’t seem to get enough of this quenching health tonic that is harvested from fresh, young coconuts. Coconut water has flooded the US market, is a $300 billion industry in Brazil, and is making its way throughout supermarkets all across Australia and New Zealand.  It’s also super popular in Jamaica where it is consumed as a heart tonic.
